Relive the '50s in modern style at this Palm Springs B&B.. Originally opened in the 1930s as the Mira Loma, this intimate desert hideaway was once host to starlets like Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake and Gloria Swanson. (Folks to this day still retell the tales of Marilyn's favorite room, now called Pretty in Pink.) Each of the ten pool-adjacent rooms is furnished with its own theme--think Crooners, Hawaiian Surf, Rebel Without a Cause--and comes with its own DVDs to watch on the large flat screen TV. Even better, all accomodations include a full gourmet breakfast each morning (fruit smoothies and coffee included) as well as "Martini Hour" every evening with appetizers. It's modern comfort with old-school charm.
